Re: modify Size over time

set particle age and use age to modify size as a multiplier. 0 > 1 either with a change range node or an fcurve is simple enough to affect scale or size this way

Re: Create Velocity on "stick to location" Particles

thats it you got it good. that is essentially what the velocity vector is - the difference in direction and magnitude (length) from one frame to the next for sure you can increase it or add whatever it with multiply by scalar and you can pass this vector down alembic as an attribute or rewrite the p...

Re: Create Velocity on "stick to location" Particles

you could use 'inherit emit velocity' node after emission but stick to velocity ignores any velocity anyway

also you can compute your own velocity from current frame position and previous frame position and add it back on for the needded alembic attribute

Softimage Expert for hire!

Easy folks, currently in between jobs and whilst upskilling to Houdini FX like there is no tomorrow am available to take on all kinds of Softimage work - if there is any left :D although I am a 3D professional for over 15 years (started with Softimage 3D actually in 1997!) and a 3D Generalist able t...

Re: curve force

I think the simplest solution for this is to affect each particles drag force by proximity to the two outer curves. eg closer to outer curve = more drag. for you to calculate the distance between curves you would either need an ice tree on each curve calculating the relative distances beforehand to ...

Re: Softimage 2015 R2 SP2 Rendering issue (SOLVED)

is there a fix for this because I think its not only a windows 10 thing. basically at work I have to run XSI as administrator for it to find a license and work correctly at home (again still windows 10) I dont have to. so something messed up on my work install which is self initiated as was trying t...

Re: Large Print Rendering tips?

the most valuable tip is to turn off the display when rendering in the preferences. you will not believe how much ram takes out of your graphics card just to hold and display a large format image from memory.

Re: "Bodycloud" from [Vladimir Jankijevic] how to?

here I've plotted the motor mocap file and set simulation substeps to 5 in the particle simulation settings option. no need to linear interpolate anything and much simpler and smoother results. Re: "Bodycloud" from [Vladimir Jankijevic] how to?

no, for a smoother interpretation you will need to do a bezier / quadratic interpolation or much more in between steps. I based extra points by distance moved. so 5 units was maximum foot movement in this anim = 25 extra steps and 0 units movement = 0 extra steps otherwise it is creating points on t...

Re: "Bodycloud" from [Vladimir Jankijevic] how to?

[media]https://vimeo.com/149407114[/media] heres my take on this. Generate evenly distributed particles on surface with pixel particles once every frame delete particles by age (in this case 100 frames) mesh particles with polygoniser also I added particles that were linear interpolated on fast movi...
