Re: How to place specular/reflection precisely on objects ?
I wrote a small tool a few years ago that helps positioning a reflector or light.. just install the xsiaddon usage: Select a polymesh, run the script from Property>Oz_Reflection Ray, you will be asked to select the Camera (select the camera itself) a NULL is created constrained to the polymesh, and ...

Re: Floating Paradise
Requesting for suggestions. Are any of these compositions any better? Is there a way to lock the grid in Softimage, so I can use it as guides just like in the Rule of thirds? you can constrain a grid to the camera, Direction constraint, and Pose constraint, this way no matter how you turn or move t...

Re: link with not working properly in 2015SP1?
Thanks rray
it's just my computer and not a bug, we have another SP1 license installed on a different computer (same exact set-up),
I just tested it there and it works just fine...
so I guess that was a false alarm
thanks for checking
Oz.

Re: link with not working properly in 2015SP1?
actually I need to save the scene and re-open it for the link-with to work.. I tried it in a new scene, with two primitives, and still in 2013 it works, and in 2015SP1, I need to save and re-open for it to work.. but it might be something with my own workstation.. it would be nice if a few more peop...

Re: Motion Trail on viewport -Version Up
How do you use this? Please help. There´s no readme. And also the site is down. Thanks. If I remember correctly, after installation, go to the keyboard mapping window in softimage, look under "Custom Script Commands" you should find, Motion Trail there, then assign this command, to a keyb...

Re: ICE Prevent feet sliding tool
Thanks Tekano, Actually I built my own timer this morning.. only then I realized there's already a timer that comes with Soft ;) I haven't tested the factory timer nodes yet, but after you suggested using them, I sure will try them out, my timer is pretty simple. distance from center stride is actua...

Re: ICE Prevent feet sliding tool
Thanks guys :) this is a very basic humble start.. it has problems, I wouldn't consider it a finished tool of course. I have done some progress with blending out the constraint over a period of time, it's a personal project, so I need some free time at work to make it work properly, and I don't have...

ICE Prevent feet sliding tool
Hi, I am trying to build a small tool with ICE, to automatically detect the frames each foot needs to be pinned to the floor, and keep it from sliding (when you have a sloppy animation of a walk cycle for example) Currently I managed to do a Boolean On\Off position constraint, it works pretty nice, ...

it's amazing to me that digital-tutors is worth actually more than what AD paid for Softimage..

Re: Softimage Protest film
Count me in! I can best contribute as a character animator/ animation direction (I also do ICE stuff, rigging, and also a generalist), been doing 3D animation for 23 years, 17 of them using Softimage|3D/XSI.. www.ozadi.com As a side note, I also ran an Idea in my head, of making Autodesk shaming T-s...
