Animate a building.
Hi all. It's been a while since i posted the last time on this community ^^ I need help with a thing: I've a building, already modeled with all separated pieces (for example, the walls are all made of little cubes). Now i need to do an animation where all the pieces just start to fall from the sky a...

Re: How to Create a Fitting Casing
can you specify why Extrude along normal didn't work? It seems strange, when i need something like that usually between extruding, applying thickness and offsetting there is always one that works fine. :-? Btw, if you need none distance by the source object can't you just work on it with the shader?...

Re: Duplicate Symm Problem
never had that problem before. Dunno what is you solution, but you can try instead of using simmetry, just freeze the scaling, duplicate the object (if they are more than one add it under a model, a null or a parent, and then set the scale to -1 (in the axys you want the simmetry). Then freeze the tr...

Re: Emit particles from mesh polygons
Update: i'd want to make a wave movement with the particles. I thought i could create a rectangle and use it with a Surface Force passing it on the particles, but it doesn't seems to work, cause all the particles get away from it and not only the ones that are close.

Re: Emit particles from mesh polygons
right now i solved putting a randomize around value in Mass and Speed of the particle, but i'll try to see the difference. Btw for now i want that the particles randomly moves only backward, so away from the camera (cause i'm facing the particle grid). For who knows After Effect a bit, i'm trying to...

Re: Emit particles from mesh polygons
yeah that was that, and it worked. Now i've these cube shaped particle, with 0 speed, that stays in place. My goal now is to play with these particles, like to randomly move them back and forward, spin then etc. My question now is: i've this particles in place (0 speed), if i want them to move forwa...

Emit particles from mesh polygons
Hi all, i'd like to set up an emission; i've a grid mesh, and i'd want that my point cloud emits a particle (Cube shaped) from every polygon of the mesh. Basically i'm triyng to simulate a sort of abstract thing, where the grid (made of particles) move, separates, etc... I searched in the help file,...

Re: JAW COLLECTOR ( short movie )
like very much the overall design of the model, but: -it's normal that the little piece down the glass is black? -the material shader looks more like a shiny plastic than metal -dunno if it's a normal map issue, but the bolt textured on the side parts, are completely flat, doesn't make much sense. c...

Update: now i need to model the interior of the wagon (this is the reason for the windows aren't glass yet ^^), tweak some materials and add some minor props to the scene.

Re: Old Room
You could use posproduction tricks, this is a normal thing in 3d. In stills Photoshop mainly, in animation after effects, combustion, fusion and other I did a small presentation (use mask in "levels" little mix red and blue channel) - I did not mean to offend you, but only show what you c...

Re: Old Room
Yeah you're right, unfortunately it was to stressfull to rebalance things with MR. To get a speedy feedback with light setup, i had to work on a clay image, and on the clay the lights look much better, but i haven't enought patience to tweak the lights and wait for a 30min render with texture every ...

Re: Metro Station
so far Maxwell seems very different from what i got used to, like Mental Ray. I mean, in Mental Ray i'd to set up tons of stuff just to get that kind of illumination; in Maxwell all i'd to do is to create the lights and launch the rendering. The strange thing is that beside the scale factol is set ...
