cost vs value: If you need to run a company it's not the software which costs, but the manpower. This will, and has always depended on the size of the company and the needs of the user... I do agree with you in some aspects. Time is extremely valuable. I'm just saying forking out $10,000+ per year ...

Agreed. The takeaway here that all SoftImage users should know is that people outside the box know what happened.
