Re: Cycles for Softimage

No, in 2014 it's worse... the FOV, when animated, is read badly, and setting the playback to 25 frames doesn't solve the problem.
matevil wrote: 17 Oct 2023, 12:09 simple question

does it work also on Softimage 2014?

thanks

Re: Cycles for Softimage

Ok, thank you ^:)^ :) Ok, I am able to reproduce this bug. It looks like the Sycles should more carefully select proper time for animated objects and parameters. Now it selects the time of the rendered frame by eval_time = render_context.GetTime(); And then use it like XSI::MATH::CMatrix4 camera_tfm...

Re: Cycles for Softimage

I investigated further, given that I had also had anomalous behavior in 2015. I understood where the problem is generated, I don't know if it is a feature or a bug. When there is no correspondence between the preferences in "output format" and the "Play control" there is a shift ...

Re: Cycles for Softimage

It's a strange bug, I failed to reproduce it. When I call to render the whole pass, it renders 5 frames with correct camera fov. I attach the animated gif under the spoiler. Hi Shekn, since the bug didn't occur to you, I had a doubt.. I preferably use 2014 for various reasons, and the bug appeared ...

Re: Cycles for Softimage

Hi, today I noticed a bug that affects the camera when it is animated. I animated the "Focal Length" and when rendering the animation (in this case) the second frame does not read the animation correctly. It doesn't do it in the preview, it doesn't do it with the render region and it doesn...

Re: Cycles for Softimage

Hi ! ( @ Shekn or anyone else who might help ) So I installed Sycles 2.1.3 (in Si 15 sp2) and I get an error on one DLL that says : << A procedure couldn't be found in library >> https://i.imgur.com/MAiRd0d.jpg Did anyone else encounter this ? Thanks ! I don't know if this is your case, but I saw t...

Re: Cycles for Softimage

Small update - version 2.1.3. Cycles binaries are the same as previously. Only fixed some issues on the Softiamge addon. Of course we're weird... we're already 4 cats, if we don't even answer each other... well... :-\

Re: 4090 Redshift

I just saw the question now, I usually just frequent the Cycles page. Quick answer: No. The latest version for Softimage is 3.0.45 which supports only the 3000 series. You're already lucky to get the 3000 series going, unfortunately with my license I'm stuck in the 1 series, because it's not possibl...

Re: Cycles for Softimage

Changing topic: doing a very large render (as we said last time) in Prompt, up to about 12000 px it works, above it goes out of memory of the video card (8gb). Is there any setting I can work with? It's not urgent, I've already delivered the job (done with redshift always in prompt). :) May be you ...

Re: Cycles for Softimage

Hey Shekn Any news about HDRMaster ;) While waiting for an update, here is the new version modified by me. It's just a compound to use instead of the "background" shader. I made some improvements and additions: 1. Modified the intervention of the "Sun". I realized that each HDRI...

Re: Cycles for Softimage

About color management. You are right. In Sycles 2.x it should works in the same way as in 1.x. If there are no changes of the scene except color management parameters, then it should use previously saved image buffer and only apply color transformation. But sometimes this logic does not work and i...

Re: Cycles for Softimage

Since I'm here, I make an observation.
In version 1 the changes to the "Color Management" were in real time (post effect type), now with version 2 any change will cause the render to be completely recalculated.
Seems like incorrect behavior to me...
