And me too :)
I don't understand the negative posts as this version was to be released in three increments and converging into a single unified app, that was explained quite clearly in the original blogs.

Re: ZBrush 4R8

I certainly hope so and they invest a part of their ideas in hard modelling which is currently still going in all softwares with technology of almost 15 years ago. Modelling hasn't really changed much in main apps., watching the R4.8 demo last night looks like R5 should see organic and hard modelli...

There's just no holding back their imagination, version 5 will no doubt push the boundaries even further.

Re: Inside tech on the new LightWave

I personally somehow find Lightwave more approachable than Modo and appreciate more how they see things. Otherwise XSI had it's own share of marketing hype, and like LW and others, at least a larger part of it was real or wasn't just exaggerations. The big problem with Lightwave is the sum total of...

Re: Inside tech on the new LightWave

Perhaps the unified mesh things marks the beginning of a unified Lightwave App, that would be cool. (perhaps finally moving away from their modeler/layout paradigm) Lightwave has always been a pretty good innovator, (had some form of Sub-D before everyone, and much of their rendering tech has alway...

Re: Getting Started with Fabric Engine

Hey dirtydog, Good point about that video. It does not cover setting the variables. I think that is a very good idea to cover this in one of the next videos. Noted. As a quick response, the prompt.bat file that you double click sets the variables for you and opens the command prompt. If you right c...

Re: Getting Started with Fabric Engine

I asked for this type of tutorial in another thread and was told no!. But thank you for releasing this type of tutorial, simple but shows the process in a concise manner. The one question about this tutorial, is that it never mentioned the environment variables that have to be entered manually or pe...

Re: Softimage and Windows 10?

Did you install a Maya service pack before this started happening? In my experience Maya services packs have the nasty habit of resetting the startup method for the flexlm service to "automatic (delayed)", which I personally find rather annoying, as I want it to start automatically, not d...

Re: Softimage and Windows 10?

Thanks for the help, but the problem was that FLEXnet services 32/64 had somehow stopped starting up at boot and was configured for manual start, I reset it to auto, that did the trick.

Re: Softimage and Windows 10?

Hi everybody My License for the Maya/Softimage 2014 suite has stopped working after a short period when I switched to Windows 10, I have checked the LIC file and it looks good, the license server appears to be working ok. My problem is after stopping the subscription, who do I contact for a license ...

Re: Fabric Engine 2 for Softimage

Hi FabricPaul
A noob request, how about a video tutorial on how to install Fabric2, I had no luck at the weekend and had to manually entered the environment variables but still no joy, looking at forums on the subject, a lot of people are having similar problems.
