Re: Best Blender 2.8 build?
OK that's cool, I was only showing the many different ways Blender has to do the same task, plus the industry standard way. Fire is just a video (several layered videos), but in Blender it can be overlayed (like after effects screen / multiply) and enhanced with Bloom in Eevee, so the real time feed...

Re: Best Blender 2.8 build?
I did some animations with camera motion blur, had to look for it on my files. My top annoying feature is, I still see the old layer system on some menus.

Re: Best Blender 2.8 build?
Transform gizmos are in blender if you use them from Tools menu or shift + spacebar, but they dissapear when you select another tool. If most of the time you aren't constraining to XY ZX then you can activate them and use it and then forget about them. And they can work exactly like Zbrush, wich did...

Re: Best Blender 2.8 build?
You can also press N, and in location, lock the axis you dont want to move. Sorry for not directly answer your question, but I truly dont know where in preferences you can enable gizmos. I'll look into it.

Re: Best Blender 2.8 build?
How using keyboard is faster than using a gizmo that allows to move in XY ZX YZ ? if i want to move an object i always have to move the arm and hand that have the pen so better to do it all there (i don't use a mouse) Nevertheless good point about Eevee. Im guessing you still have the option to see...

Re: Best Blender 2.8 build?
Finally, remember if you moved or scaled an object and you choose a different axis by mistake, you can either click then undo, or just press ESC. If you are using the middle click drag way, you can try gseveral times until you get the right AXIS you want ( press G / S / R, then middle click drag X, ...

Re: Best Blender 2.8 build?
Also, if you want to scale half or double a value just press S, (middle mouse then drag the axis you want to scale), and 2 or 0.5 on the keyboard, then press ENTER. If you want to rotate, do the same but with 90 or 45 or whatever and then ENTER. You can also press S + X, Y or Z instead of S + middle...

Re: Best Blender 2.8 build?
Perhaps you are talking abut transform gizmo? If you press G then middle mouse you can drag to an axis to restrict movement so you don't need the gizmo at all. If you need the gizmo for some reason, just click the move tool on left side toolbar. Not same thing, i want the rotate, move, scale easily...

Re: I can not adapt to other software
Understanding the Maya data flow, this is by all means harder than creating a few little scripts - so.... no way to work with this software, without a basic scripting knowledge, or, without TD in room. But it is easy once you understand a workflow. It works with Zbrush, Cinema and all the programs ...

Re: I can not adapt to other software
didnt remember XSI layouts, but maya workspace let you customize shortcuts depending on your workspace, and also automatically change the shelves, to reflect your workspace. I do remember using shortcuts in XSI for Edge, vertex and poly (E, T and forgot) I don't love Maya (although I should), but I ...

Re: I can not adapt to other software
i messed around with maya 2014. I couldn't even figure out how to move verticies. i just say there looking at a sphere in what is supposed to be the most 'powerful' and 'best ' program ever and i couldn't figure out how to even get started in modelling. At least with Max i got far enough in 1999 to...

Re: Maxon C4D to have AMD GPU renderer
I think, nobody will say anything if latest c4d versions were full of new, competitive features, like Houdini for example, even some of them aren't the best thing. But, offer of a few new shading options (already available in Mental Ray for XSI 4 or so), plus a few nice-but-nothing-special modeling...

Re: Maxon C4D to have AMD GPU renderer
Speaking about software in advance is not good for developers. This is not only one 'prediction of future' coming from them in last few months. While these announcements are moderate, without any exact part, I think they are still an unpleasant reminder to Osborne effect , well known in 3d world, t...
