Anyone remember the snipe Autodesk took at Blender during Siggraph Vancouver?
Make up your damned minds, Autodesk.

Re: Autodesk retires Softimage
http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/Softimage-General/Open-letter-to-Autodesk/td-p/4874950 More studios need to join in on this.. Stand up for your pipeline! PS: Can I sue Autodesk into paying for the psychologist I need for the depression that hits every time I need to open Softimage at work? I ask know...

Re: Autodesk retires Softimage
http://www.change.org/petitions/autodesk-save-softimage I really don't feel we'll be getting anywhere until studios that use Softimage ANYWHERE in their pipeline, start sharing links to this on their company's Facebook / Twitter / Blog pages. I encourage everyone to pass this on towards your compan...

Re: Autodesk retires Softimage
Someone needs to ask Foundry (or perhaps Adobe?) to try and acquire it..

Can we have a math section?
I was wondering if the forum would benefit from having a math section.
Basically a sub-forum where people can ask about/discuss/list formulas & how they incorporated them into ICE
Was wondering what other people thought of this idea.

Global Point/Poly positions?
Can't really seem to figure out how to get an Polygon's global position.. I thought self.PolygonPosition would return it but it seems to be a constant value that doesn't change as the object moves.. As a last resort, I tried using a temp buffer set to self.PolygonPosition x self.kine.global.scl + gr...

Active window based mouse mapping
Hey all, I was wondering if it's possible to re-assign mouse button functions in XSI, based on active window. It's a small thing, but I was hoping to re-assign a middle click+drag to Pan around for tree views (Schematic, Render Tree, FXTree, & ICE Tree) I have no clue where to start.. Any ideas?...

kine.local.rotz
all this talk about ICE Kinematics, & I still can't figure out how to set data for "this.kine.local.rotz" while using 2011.. I think I'm missing something very basic.. I've seen the "Automatically Rotate Wheels With ICE" compound, but that changes point positions, is that sti...

Skeleton Hierarchies?
I've been wondering why XSI by default parents EndEffectors to Roots (Right) instead of to the last bone (Left)?
The left lets us use alt+Up/Down to move up and down entire chains.. Is there any benefit by the default that I'm completely missing??

Lighting with ICE
Hi all, I was just playing around with ICE and realized I can use point lights as instances.. (MIND=BLOWN). Has anyone else played with this yet? I'm trying to color the lights based on the emitter's texture map.. I know I can assign point colours by texture maps, but is there a way to change the li...
