Re: New Blender viewport (early stage) and Maya comparative
The most common error, about Blender, people doing is believing blender is free, so is free the blender development. Blender is not free, some people paying for it, some on regular basis (5,10,15,20 etc euro per month), some do a simple one time donation, some other buying tutorials or gadgets, beca...

Re: New Blender viewport (early stage) and Maya comparative
Hi MauricioPC, I think Kent Trammel did a great tutorial here: a bit dated, but nice. I boring the introduction tutorial, for every software. If you want a introductory tutorial, here cgcookie have one very complete: https://cgcookie.com/flow/introduction-to...

I'd like to learn Mantra, seems very good from what I see (but I'm a render incompetent). So at the moment stay with blender/zbrush/softimage, ...

Re: Softimage replacement, anyone
I'm a freelance, and I don't want working in any studio. If I want work in any big or little studio probably I'll leave blender for maya without any remorse. This is the some for others software, even for XSI: want a job like employer into the industries? Learn maya. Stop. Is not the only reason why...

Re: Carlyle Group plans to sell The Foundry
another sign that God approves my choice: open source is the way (go Blender!)
Edit: Anyway, I think the article refer to this: http://vfxfoundry.com/ , and not the software company.
