Re: Exocortex Clara.io: Next-gen web-based 3D creation
We use both the resources on your PC and also those on the cloud. The really hard stuff must happen on the cloud and all the data needs to be stored on the cloud. Can this data be taken off the cloud? Can I back up my own assets locally and export obj, fbx, alembic etc. files for use in other softw...

Re: Exocortex Clara.io: Next-gen web-based 3D creation
There seems to be one slight flaw in that scenario: you'd still have to find 5 freelancers proficient enough in the software to work it efficiently, as you don't want to waste time training them. This goes for any software, but sadly doesn't change for software "in the cloud". And then th...

Re: Exocortex Clara.io: Next-gen web-based 3D creation
We are continuing to release our desktop-based products. Remember that we have had a team working on Clara for two years now. During that time we have continued to release updates to Crate (about 100 updates), Fury (~25 updates), Momentum (3.3-3.11 updates with 4 on the way), Species (all updates, i...

Re: Exocortex Clara.io: Next-gen web-based 3D creation
Bandwidth is important if you have complex scenes. If you are dealing with low poly models then slow Internet is okay. I would recommend 6mbps or better download speed. If you want to upload large models and textures to Clara.io faster upload speed would be convenient. So faster Internet is better b...

Re: Exocortex Clara.io: Next-gen web-based 3D creation
We will be announcing rendering options in the next two months and I think most people will really like them. Licensing is going to be cheap compared to desktop packages. There will be a free tier with some limites, and then the next tier up will be likely around $10 a month. For those with a lot of...

Re: Exocortex Clara.io: Next-gen web-based 3D creation
We have a lot of tutorials coming soon. We'll post them on vimeo. I'll link them here when that happens, at least the first set.Bullit wrote:Without a video showing from how to make a teapot to how to model or animate, render, very few will INVEST their time trying it.

Re: A youtube presentation of the Alembic fileformat
A lot of Softimage studios have adopting Alembic into their pipelines. While I am clearly biased I would argue that Softimage has the best Alembic workflow out of all the DCCs at the moment because of Helge Mathee's hard work in the area: http://exocortex.com/alembic/alembic_for_softimage These test...

Re: Exocortex Momentum 3: Real-time Multiphysics + Fracturing
The discounted upgrade price was only for those that purchased Momentum 2 prior to the release of Momentum 3, to reward customers of M2 for their early and critical support of the product. If you purchase M2 now, you can upgrade to Momentum 3 for the difference in price between M3 and M2. I generall...

Re: Exocortex Momentum 3: Real-time Multiphysics + Fracturing
The video mentions it. But I will update the product page today to make it clear that it is still based on Bullet. The new features though in Momentum 3 are all in addition to Bullet, like the Fracture Engine is totally a create of Helge Mathee.

Hi Hirazi,
Yes, Momentum 2 is going to remain still available as a less expensive alternative. It is still a very powerful tool.
Best regards,
Ben Houston

Re: Exocortex Momentum 2.0: real-time multiphysics simulator
Installed and running the trial, but..... - Switching layouts: If I have a non plotted sim, and switch between layouts SI mostly just grays out and hangs. If I plot the sim to the mixer, I can switch layouts without issues. Do people recognize this? - Animation: Like all other sim plugins, is there...
