High Treason in High Places (NDAA BILL)
I tried posting this on CGtalk yesterday, and not surprisingly, after a brief insult from a Mod, my thread was closed. So lets try here.. since this greatly effects everybody in America, including.. CG artists. B-) I believe this is extremely important to share.. and at the very least I'd be more th...

Re: Swami Vivekananda
Nice work overall.. looks just like him.
The jacket material is great, but the head wrap looks more like plastic and the skin needs more sss as mentioned.
Thanks for sharing!

Some characters and stuff (Large images - wips)
Here are some misc models I'm working on, and a few renders. I hope no one minds the large images. :ar! http://i205.photobucket.com/albums/bb50/Iysun77/art/ninn.jpg ----- http://i205.photobucket.com/albums/bb50/Iysun77/art/mmage.jpg ----- http://i205.photobucket.com/albums/bb50/Iysun77/art/aquar.jpg...

Re: Summerhaze with Flower of Life Animation
Thanks. Yes 600 samples. I tried tests before hand with the samples levels, starting at around 60 and moving up. I The artifacts seemed quite bad until I got up to the 600 range.. which was certainly a little bit of over kill I suppose... maybe im missing something else I don't know, I wouldn't be s...

Summerhaze with Flower of Life Animation
This animation took my poor laptop over two weeks to render Lol. The material is a simple ambient occlusion set at around 600. The animation, which shows how simple circles ( or torus) can be used to create beautiful and complex patterns, can be viewed here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OvO7VtWRoq...

Re: Problem with Opacity Map on Particles
I tried disabling specular on the shader awhile back... and it still would not render correctly, so assumed it must be something else. But I just tried plugging my opacity map into the specular channel as well, and it renders fine now!
Thanks for that.

Re: Problem with Opacity Map on Particles
Sure here are a few quick renders: Phong Shader.. maybe not the best frame to capture, but some render fine, and some as you see here show the full rectangle. http://i205.photobucket.com/albums/bb50/Iysun77/PhongShader.jpg Constant Shader (Which works right but I don't want constant) http://i205.pho...

Re: Problem with Opacity Map on Particles
lol np, not so obvious here.
I've applied the opacity in the render tree onto the particle cloud.
I've been keeping it as simple as possible for now, a default blinn shader, with an opacity map plugged into its transparency slot.

Problem with Opacity Map on Particles
I'm applying a simple white/black opacity map onto the shader of some rectangular shaped particles, using ice... but for some reason roughly half of the particles are not opaque like they should be, while the other half renders fine... I'm assuming this has to do with which side of the particle is f...
