Re: AD: Subscription Transition for New Software Licenses
1.6 Does this affect existing software purchased under a perpetual license? No, if a customer already has a perpetual license or purchases a new perpetual license at any time before February 1, 2016, that license doesn't go away. They still retain the perpetual license to that software and can conti...

Re: Free Autodesk flame training edition
Bellsey, Ive not used one but sat next to a few operators over the years and seen them work or fed them 3d renders / mattes etc its very pen gesture driven and has a few neat tricks but IMO - not taking anything away from the incredible skill & talent of its operators its designed for super qui...

Re: Free Autodesk flame training edition
Finishing systems like Flame, etc are high end 'turn key' systems, which means you not only get the software but the hardware as well. Often with these solutions, the hardware is tailored to the software, so yeah the cost is going to be higher than your normal software. Thing is you might be compari...

Re: Free Autodesk flame training edition
Out of interest, anyone here actually used a Flame? I don't profess to know a great deal about Flame, but it's not just a simple comping app like Nuke. As a 3D guy, I can muddle my way in something like Nuke, I couldn't do the same in Flame. Finishing products like Flame, Da Vinci, Avid, etc are a w...

Re: Autodesk going all rental?
I've seen the Motion Media webinar and all they've done is repeat what Andrew Anagnost said on the investor day. They weren't making any firm and official statements and even said that details are still unclear. They were really only mentioning it so as not confuse things with the changes to the upg...

Re: Autodesk going all rental?
Ok, I'm going to chime in here, because reading various posts I think people have got confused in the light of what Andrew mentioned recently. I haven't seen the motion media webinar, but from what I can tell from peoples comments, much of the focus and information was more about the current Autodes...

Re: Acute3d- Photo to 3D free for non comercial.
That's an even better question. Honestly I don't know.
Previously Autodesk had a product called Imagemodeller, and ReCap and various things seems to have risen from that product group.
The obvious difference is that Acute can be used as a desktop solution and Photo on ReCap 360 is cloud based.

Re: Acute3d- Photo to 3D free for non comercial.
How is ReCap 360 (photo) different from 123D catch? Similar to Sketchbook 7 vs Sketchbook 2015? Good questions. There's parallels to the Sketchbook comparisons, but at the same time different. Many people confuse the two and think that 123d is the only service we provide. 123d Catch, and the 123d s...

Then I would suggest taking things more private, instead of calling me out, for which then I have the right to reply.McNistor wrote:Bellsey, I don't think I can address anything you've said in those two posts without being accused (and perhaps rightfully so) of an another ad hominem.

Re: Houdini Indie Teaser
I'm just curious at this point - do you have any personal experience with these tools Bellsey or are you the ever present Autodesk seller guy talking (promoting) in this instance? Because if that's the case, I'd like to caution whoever (because there are a lot of guests here and I'm pretty sure you...

ok, I'm late to this party, but here goes... McNistor, I'm sorry you think my posts are useless, though I can't say I agree with you. Also I'm not actually promoting anything, but the same as I've always done and that's highlighting facts and offering clarifications. Whether you want to believe any ...

Re: Autodesk going all rental?
I don't control or manage how communications get sent out, but as I say it doesn't surprise me that it's inconsistent. I know people who get things all the time, and then others who get nothing. Nothing wrong with calling BS, that's your prerogative. Thing is, there isn't much I can do or say to dis...

Re: Autodesk going all rental?
There's also always news going out to Subs customers, it's not as if its never ever happened. Whether anything gets through or not, well that's different story. In multi seat studios, news can go to the account holder/admin and not to individuals. Also, I've heard of people auto-deleting emails the...
