Re: 3D printing?
Well actually yes. It was quite accurate for the small size we needed. And got really close even with small features. Insets with 0.5 mm and so on. But my print was a Product prototype one in gold one in silver finish and the model was basically just a cube one side open, one hole at the bottom and ...

Hi Hirazi Blue
I´ve used http://www.shapeways.com/ once for a print and they got a section with tutorials http://www.shapeways.com/tutorials/ so maybe you find what you need there.

Another must have release
Multithreading and Meshing the different Phase Id´s is already worth the update.
And all the rest is a big bonus.
No cloning to new clouds anymore
Well done Eric

Re: progressive rendering in xsi2012, still not there?
For Iray? You have to use the mia_material. No problems here to get reflection working. For the material I could get only simple lambert to work.
No reflection or refraction.

Re: Softimage 2012 Experiences
Well cant really say anything about stability jet.. works fine so far. Just 2 things I quickly noticed.. Unified sampling does not work with satellite rendering. (maybe a technical limitation?) and motion vector output pass shader is always displayed as main channel in the Render Region even if set ...

Re: Work-Around to Problems with Tablets and Softimage
Saw that today morning and did it straight away.
Works very nice and finally no need to take my mouse again for simulation tasks or orbiting while simulating.
Only thing is that the new stop button in SI2012 lost its "feature" position.

Re: Architectural material anisoptropy issue 7.01 -> 2011.5
Just made a quick test with the same results. SI 2011.5 64bit
With the old Anisotropic shader no problem.
But no way to get the same effect with the Arch mat.
Confirmed ;)

Hi there.
Thank you so much
Just tried it on simple geo and it works perfect.
