Re: If I was ADSK and have $100 to spend for SI
Since ADSK had those $100 and didn't spend them at all, I'd say they just don't want to. It would be relatively easy to raise sales by just presenting SI differently. But they didn't. I was thinking before, AD's marketing was just incompetent, but today I think it is all by decision. They want it th...

Re: Autodesk: 30% revenues come from 1% of customers
Maya LT doesnt run on mobile or the cloud. m&e does other things like 123 Catch, 360 Character Generator, sketchbook for IOS and android, and other upcoming products and sevices. I know. All these apps are made to generate customers for ADSK's cloud services. That's why they don't need to make ...

I can see "creatives" working with it: " A Table." " No, not such a table." " At table with, you know, wood. On top. " " Yes, quite like this. But a little different. How shall I put it... classy! Yes. That's it, classy." " OK " " What...

Re: No more upgrades (from 2015 onwards)!!!
This being a purely personal viewpoint. I will pay to own software, but I will never personally pay money to a company for the rental of their software. I would rather have to pay a steeper fee to upgrade / buy new every now and again then fork over a monthly rental. Exactly my point of view. I'm w...

Re: Autodesk: 30% revenues come from 1% of customers
If you are to believe the reporter, carl bass is saying in the article that the "reason" why they are going into consumer apps is to learn new things for the entreprise apps. but the real reason is that wall street demands a mobile/web/touch story from corporations, and autodesk cannot mo...

Re: No more upgrades (from 2015 onwards)!!!
It's funny, because subscriptions with poor upgrades are the reason for dropping revenues. Rental eliminates the need for good development. Also a subscription for a suite earns them about only 50% of what 4 good upgrades get them.
I say, this is another step towards oblivion for M&E.

Re: Autodesk: 30% revenues come from 1% of customers
It wasn't a vague remark, it was a question. I'm just saying the instant gratifikation thing is not the topic of the statement but the future of ADSK. And with so many people asking just for that information I'm wondering why we discuss minor details, when someone delivers just that. I mean basicall...

Re: Autodesk: 30% revenues come from 1% of costumers
Consumer app users want "instant gratification," he said, and "we're trying to push that into our professional products. Tip: http://xsisupport.com/ Nothing says instant gratification more than hitting a problem in a professional software, and then having to go to the internet to fin...

I haven't commented on it's "drollness", I haven't even told him to cut it out. I explained why it is inappropriate behavior on an international forum. Like I have explained on numerous occasions in the past to other people, BTW. But then I am only an Administrator here, what would I know...

Re: Autodesk: 30% revenues come from 1% of costumers
See? Anything there. M&E (and other areas too seemingly) is not profitable, AD heading for a new market, try to sell services instead of expensive software, and if they could, they would get rid of M&E rather sooner than later. Though he didn't mention M&E in particular, it should be cle...
