Not much apparently. That is what I read from the guys testing it on C4DCafe.
I actually like MAX 2018. The UI is fast, the viewport is better.

Re: Arnold to go rental-only
I've been playing with Redshift and doing the basic tutorials using the demo for Maya and man ... I finally starting to like the rendering part of 3D. :) Redshift is fast and actually fun. At the same time I saw that Maxon is opening an Open Beta for Bodypaint without improving the UV capabilities. ...

Re: Collodi - New Animation Software
I came from a traditional animation background in Stop motion at Aardman animations, back in the day when Pixar were hiring all the stop motion animators they could find. I turned down their offer as at the time I had no interest in CGI. A few years later bit the bullet and moved to Hand Keyed CGI ...

Re: Collodi - New Animation Software
I was yesterday on the FMX (and go there again in a few minutes). My opinion: Collodi is VEEEEERRRY interesting! You can compare it like an up-to-date Messiah Studio combined with Presto and all Maya animation features with a quick 3D view and there you go. You have pretty much all deformers that M...

Re: Autodesk Maintenance prices to increase
Hey Bullit! :) Yeah, I've checked this out. By the way, an german artist created a server for Blender for 3ds Max users and there's some talk there, etc. If you want, I can invite you. I'm following two tutorials, one from Andrew Price (Blender Guru), which is free on youtube and another one, also f...

Re: Autodesk Maintenance prices to increase
Hey Mathaeus,
So you are quite happy with Maya LT.
So far for me is Houdini (because I really like Houdini) and I'm still deciding on a modeling package. Maybe Maya LT might be a good idea for VR? I played with Hololens for the first time this weekend and I loved it!

Re: Autodesk Maintenance prices to increase
That is indeed correct. Autodesk don't give a crap what you and I think. They'll move forward and you can follow them or leave them.
I'm hoping some studios might start considering other options, but I guess the industry is so f*cked right now that this is the smallest of problems. :/

Re: Autodesk Maintenance prices to increase

Re: Autodesk CEO and President Carl Bass steps down
I have a feeling that by 2020 you won't have maintenance anymore, so only subscription.
My feelings on this are based on this video:
