Using VS 2010 Express to compile 64bit-plugins for Softimage
[media]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UOWFE9Cv-ak[/media] Video description: In this tutorial I demonstrate how to properly install and configure Visual Studio C++ 2010 Express to compile 64bit plugins for Autodesk Softimage. Sorry that it's a little bit lengthy, but I didn't want to leave anything...

Re: [cpp] 64 bit Visual C++ Express
I've actually gotten 2010 to work now, so 2008 doesn't concern me much. Thanks for the reply though, I totally didn't think of that and now remember your post from back then... I've tried a lot of different things now, and am not 100% sure which steps actually lead to successfully compiling from 201...

Re: [cpp] 64 bit Visual C++ Express
I've now tried getting 2008 to work, but unfortunately to no avail too. I'm pretty sure I've followed the instructions to the letter, but since it isn't working I've probably made a mistake... " The following error has occurred during XML parsing: File: D:\3D\SI 2012\Installation\Softimage 2012...

Re: [cpp] 64 bit Visual C++ Express
So has anyone got 2010 express to work? On Jens's blog "sheponian" wrote: Using x64-Compiler in Visual C++ 2010 Express is easy: "1. Install “Visual C++ 2010 Express” 2. Install “Windows SDK for Windows 7 and .NET Framework 4″ 3. Open your VC++ Project, go to “Properties” > “Configura...

Re: LEGOification in ICE
Thanks guys !!! Yesterday I realized that you cannot do Custom ICE Node in Python, so I finally got my Visual Studio Express tweaked to compile in 64 bits and will try to put the array processing in there, see how much I gain from that. As I am on the road, it's gonna be a little while before I com...

SI Mailing List
Hi there, I'm probably really stupid and/or blind for not understanding how to do this, but I can't seem to be able to post on the mailing list... Is this a right you have to be granted by someone from AD since they maintain the list, or is it maybe only accessible to commercial clients and not stud...

RenderMap Sequence Script
Hi Guys. A couple of days ago I had to render a sequence of a RenderMap, which as far as I know isn't a built-in feature. So I wrote this little script to automate the process and save me about 10000 clicks and keystrokes ;). It's adequately annotated and should be self-explanatory. Enjoy. The Pytho...

Just make a compound out of the nodes and apply that compound to your new mesh.

Re: A simple question from a newbie
Hi Didier, Are you tlaking about ICE, Rigid Bodies or Syflex? they all have their own defaults, I think Syflex cares more about precise kg and scene units than the others but really Softimage units can be whatever units you want them to be. Start with a simple convention like 1 mass = 1 kg and 1 un...
