Re: Matchmover question

Most simple tripod-movements are pretty easy to do by hand. Just get the information about the camera, set up your virtual camera accordingly and eyeball it.

Best way to deploy ICE-Compounds and Nodes

Hey guys, do you happen to have any advice on how to best deploy a suite of ICE-Compounds and Nodes? I've looked into self-installing plugins and such, but I can't seem to find a way to register compounds. Just making the user drop all the compounds and nodes into their respective user-folders seems...

Re: Cubic bezier4 compound with 1st and 2nd derivative

It should just give you the slope of the bezier curve at any given point (first derivative) and the slope of the function that gives the slope of the bezier curve at any given point (second derivative).

You are partially right. You can create a null-helper with sim-tree and process any calculations on points and then just put it to target polymesh.
Interesting could you delve into a little more detail? Or is there maybe a sample scene I've overlooked?

Re: Implosia FX - new ICE based shatter

The limitation of ICEmodeling to the modeling stack makes it impossible to create any form of collisionbased shatters with this right?

Incredible work man. The speed and feature variety is just astounding!

Re: Using VS 2010 Express to compile 64bit-plugins for Softimage

Sure, here you go: http://vimeo.com/28237695 It would be great if some of us could come together in force to produce C++ for Softimage tutorials. We could definitely use more people with higher technical skill or at least some insight into it. I find video-tutorials to be a good way of softening the...

Hirazi I don't think he was complaining about your post. He was just providing his view on the 2 topics you raised. Mere opinions which at least from my perspective do not seem to really address your post. Now you could say that Bellsey wasn't 100% helpful, but i don't think that he had any bad inte...

Any reason of using 2010 instead of 2008?
With 2008 it's a massive hassle that requires the use of scripts and the installation in specific default directories.
2010 makes it a hell of a lot easier.

Re: [cpp] 64 bit Visual C++ Express

Ask you shall receive. http://www.si-community.com/community/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=1706 It's a little bit long, but it goes over the whole process of setting up Visual Studio C++ Express 2010 for compiling 64bit-plugins and then shows how to compile and use a custom ICE-Node. Moderator edit: plea...
