Re: PolyMesh Duplicator v1.2.1

Seems to work fine here on 2012, although my SI crashed while trying to render 600 cubes. Meh. The cubes form a wall and I want to texture each side differently. I can add materials to the different sides, but whenever theres a movement, the cube being affected by it gets all the materials reset to ...

Re: Motion blur with ICE particles instances

I was just playing with ICE. Had some points rotate and when time came to render, couldn't get motion blur to work. Tried with the caching thing but nothing. how exactly, if at all, am I supposed to get it to work?

Trigger animation

I'd like to trigger a set of animations based on the location of a null. Example: I have a parked car alongside a road. The animation goes like this: Wheels turn. Car starts rolling into the road, straightens up and drives away for whatever distance the animation dictates. I then want to apply this ...

It's not the same and I've never ever liked auto-hide in any version of Windows.

Re: Autodesk ending support for Windows Vista in 2012

At work I have to use an Avid editor and the god damn taskbar is IMPOSSIBLE to get rid of. Makes me want to beat MS programmers with a shovel. Agreed. I'll hold them and you beat them. It interferes with the Avid interface (and SI to some degree). I've tried every trick I can find online but nothin...

Re: Instance along CV curve question

I only watched the video but it looks very promising and you should keep working on it and see if you can improve it. I could have used something like this some time ago when I modeled a bunch of racetracks :D

Re: V-RAY FOR SOFTIMAGE BETA - finaly here

Users of Arnold should be banned :)) Great renders though. Love the shadows. I had a look at some SSS shading (something I've amazingly enough never really used) prior to the room scene. Prepped the mental ray version first. Settled for this look: http://img854.imageshack.us/img854/6990/04mrsss.png ...

Re: V-RAY FOR SOFTIMAGE BETA - finaly here

I am not using any exposure control or tone mapping. The balls and floor are all using the standard Vray Material. The floor has no texture map and is just a 50% grey. It's something I've been wondering about for a long time. I get them easy in modo and I see VRay users get them on similar types of...

Re: V-RAY FOR SOFTIMAGE BETA - finaly here

Graham: Did you use exposure control? I'm wondering how you got color bleeding like that. I can't seem to get any unless I use exposure controls/tonemapping. I thought I already posted the following - apparantly not: mental ray, 14 mins 03 secs Adaptive Sampling - min 0 - max 2 - Sampling contrast 0...

Re: V-RAY FOR SOFTIMAGE BETA - finaly here

thank u guys. u mean apply a color correction to texture with 0.4545 gamma? so i cant render 8 bit images with SRGB like in max?right? Sure you can, and XSI is very good at this - make sure the color profile in the tekstures property is set to sRGB. no need for any color correction nodes. This migh...

Re: V-RAY FOR SOFTIMAGE BETA - finaly here

Disable your gamma in XSI if it's enabled and then add 2.2 Gamma in VRay's render settings under Color Mapping.

Re: V-RAY FOR SOFTIMAGE BETA - finaly here

I've prepped a couple of scenes for anyone interested to give a try - read further below. New render with mental ray using Adaptive Sampling - min 0 - max 2 - contrast 0,05 Triangle filter @ 2 Brute force final gather @ 128 rays. 3 bounces. Bookeh shader with 8 samples 1 real model and 9 instances. ...

Re: V-RAY FOR SOFTIMAGE BETA - finaly here

McNister: Just been trying and I'm not getting decent results. Lowering the cuttoff doesn't seem to do anything/much and it's only when I increase quality a lot that I can get decent quality. I'm currently rendering with 4, 128, 10 and 0,1 settings just for the sake of curiosity. gustavoeb: I'd love...

Awesome. Nice short and looks great! Cute touch with the DeLorean ;)

How much was 3D? I'm guessing the minor moving stuff and characters?
