Update emPolygonizer4 (incl. video tutorial)
Hey there, An update of emPolygonizer4 is available, featuring the new " Create ICE Data from internal Representation ". This special new feature exposes emPolygonizer4's internal structure in ICE or, as I like to say, it "makes emPolygonizer4 drop its pants" :) I made a short vi...

Arnold shader "OSO" in emTools version 1.910
Howdy people, If you are an Arnold user and a Windows 64 bit user then you might be pleased to hear that the newest emTools (v.1.910) is shipped with an Arnold shader called "OSO". Here the brief description taken from the online doc: It has two different shader modes that were developed d...

Re: What if Softimage died?
I'd stick to XSI for as long as it runs (at that would be many, many years) and meanwhile learn Houdini (and a little Maya).
PS: Softimage won't die.

Re: emTopolizer2: a shy release... for now.
Yes, instance geo is supported, but it currently has the following limitations:
- instance animation is not yet supported.
- children of the instance are ignored.
Those things will be implemented some time in the near future though.

emTopolizer2: a shy release... for now.
Howdy people! Prologue: To be honest, I did not know if I should post or not post the release of emTopolizer2. Why? Well, because I haven't made a release video yet, because the demo scenes are lame and hardly reflect what the new emTopolizer2 version is capable of, because the documentation is lean...

Re: New Mootzoid Website, new Softimage Plugin
I noticed that emReader is no longer free for Modo and Maya. Has this been this way for a while, or is this a change that comes with the new site? emReader was never free for Modo. Same for the Maya version (once it is released). "So why is the Softimage version for free?" Good question. ...

Some of the comments make you feel as if the si-community never even really existed/mattered. Nah, nonsense! The si-community is *very* well established, Hirazi, no worries ;) The great response to softimage.tv is easily explained: Some dudes (Cris & Cesar) brought a cool new site to our little...

Recommended Linux Distribution when building Plugins?
Hey fellow coders, Can anybody recommend a Linux distribution for the development of tools for Softimage 2012, 2013 and 2014? Until now I have been using CentOS 5.6 and it worked like a charm from XSI 7.01 to SI 2013, but unfortunately the installer of the latest SI 2014 SP2 won't run under CentOS 5...
