Re: Spark Shader
Not really experienced in this field...but i tell you, what i have heared and read about this: Render a very rough particle pass and do the rest in post...the results are so much easier to tweak when doing it in post-pro. So...just form some "spark"particles and let them do what you want i...

Re: Suggestions/"Room for improvement"-Thread
Contra! A splitting serves no one, as it would then be up to the user to decide, whether his work is "pro" or "noob"...and also would it make everyone even more afraid of posting stuff into the "pro"-section, as there would always be the sword of Damocles, that others w...

Re: And for the UNBELIEVABLE news..
Deracus, I'm not looking for "thank yous", but what I am looking for is that people value what we're doing, find it useful, find the material educational, etc etc, As this IS about the only feedback i get to the whole redi thing. That also includes what you'd like to see, as I'm pretty su...

Re: upcoming: emPolygonizer - metaballs for SOFTIMAGE
You are doing an amazing job, extending Softimage to capabilities, way larger, than what it was before...
Your fluid-solution is amazing...the particle renderer finally gives Softimage the ability to do things, that should be in there by default and now this one...yeah...amazing!!!
Keep that up

Re: SPARK by Raquel Avila - basilisco
i had almost written an email concerning the "how it was done" :) Good to have you here now, as it shortens the way and opens the answer to the broad pubic :) Could you give me some more details about the shots at 30 and 40 seconds? A breakdown, making-of or whatever would be reeeeaaaaally...

not really on-topic...but how has he made the look in the second video?
Is it rendered and later overlayed? Or has he baked a shadow-map?
The Quality of that Viewport is by far superior to what XSI can deliver...

Re: Shadow Problems
@Deracus - you're wrong, at least depending on what you try to achieve... leaving the "over" node out of the equation creates very harsh shadows I however was trying to recreate the shadow my default pass with shadows gave me... Ok...with that you are right...but what i do most of the tim...
