Re: Island Heal - Dont "close" UVWs
Yeah, if i select one edge (which selects the 2 vertices) i can island heal without ruining the resulting UVW island.
But as you say its very time consuming and fidling around.
So i guess there is no way around that.

Island Heal - Dont "close" UVWs
Hello, I wonder if there is a way to Island Heal several UVW islands but without to heal EVERY border edges. Lets say one has an unfolded cube. Then you get 6 square uvw islands. Correctly heald it would look like a cross. But if i island heal i always have to snap those islands together which have ...

XSI Multiple EPS/AI Files Importer
Hello, i wrote an external Importer for importing a whole folder with EPS and AI Illustrator files (avoid sub directorys). 1) Import 1 EPS/AI file from your EPS/AI Files folder to make XSI remember the filepath. 2) Delete the imported crvlist and set curves visibility to hidden in the viewport(s) (E...

Re: CM_DefaultPrimitives - Default Primitive settings for SI2012
Iam running it on Win7 64bit.
I tryd running it as Admin but still no luck....
Also checked the write protection of the Softimage folders ... but iam the owner.
The write protection check is still visible but greyed out. If i remove it, it comes back.

Re: CM_DefaultPrimitives - Default Primitive settings for SI2012
Hello,
does somebody know what changed from Soft 2012 to 2015 SP2 that doesnt make this addon work.
It seems that everything works fine.
Just the settings dont get stored when i restart XSI.

Re: current Fabric Engine usage?
I think Eric missunderstood what i meant with "access to all parameters" of the DCC. I actually meant building a whole DCC on top of Fabrik. So then you are actually not bound to the limitations of any existing DCC. I absolutly understand why the Fabric guys chose this path BUT in the futu...

Re: current Fabric Engine usage?
No thats totally okay. I even like it, rip it apart. I didnt mean to sound negative at all. Iam honestly very excited and full of hopes for the future of Fabic. I just dropped some personal thoughts about this powerful engine. Im not well informed and also not a programmer. So from a clueless artist...

Re: current Fabric Engine usage?
I wonder why nobody starts to create a very basic modeling tool with fabric. I know... they say that their goal is not to build a standalone/monolitic DCC... also people say "Its so hard to write a modeling app". The part that i dont get is, how can they build a complete rigging and crowd ...

Re: Pointcloud 2D Grid driven by Heightmap
Wow, thanks a lot man! It works like a charm! I post the whole ICE tree if someone is interested. My goal is actually to load in tiles from Worldmachine which should be LOD based. Maybe its possible to build something like a small terrain engine which is based on tiled terrain heightmaps and diffuse...

Re: Pointcloud 2D Grid driven by Heightmap
Hello, thanks for the tips. I was already fidling around with Modulo, but couldnt really figure out how to use it. I was able to create a second array which holds the calculated numbers 0,2,4,6,8... when i use half the grid resolution and so on. Unfortunatly i can not connect the output of this seco...

Pointcloud 2D Grid driven by Heightmap
Hello, Iam using "IFX Read Image" to drive a 2D pointcloud grid with a terrain heightmap. It works actually very nice as long as i use as many particles as the image resolution has pixels (2048x2048). If i change the particle resolution, the displacement starts to get inaccurat. I guess th...

Re: PhysX Fluid Simulation in Softimage ICE
I tried it some time ago on my 570s and it worked as far as i remember but now on my 970s i didnt test i yet. I guess since its a very different gpu architecture the code has to be adjusted. I would love to see a commercial (supported/full featured) follow-up though. Me as well. Maybe someone like M...
