Re: Tomas Pettersson and The Foundry

This mean a definitive stop to Modo sculpt module.

What I see is nice, but this didn't convinced me at all to abandon zbrush or anyway to consider adoption alongside zbrush

Re: Blender in professional productions

Totally agree. Outliner is near useless in blender, definitely an area where the developers must work.
Lukas Thone (if correctly remember his name) is under work for this task, but I have no info about.

Re: Blender in professional productions

FXdude, bb3d and nDman, quote what you said. if it had not been abused by ADSK (with negative results), the phrase "the future is bright" would fit perfectly for Blender. This image, and others, are result of Nature academy by Blender guru: http://qgv6y6drlr2sy3es4blouyvd9.wpengine.netdna-...

Re: Blender in professional productions

Very impressive and even better when you think it was done with a free software. Open source nature is an important, but not the most relevant, blender "selling point" . If you actually take a look at blender gallery and compare to modo gallery (the other commercial software I studied) bl...

Re: Transition to Blender?

Happy Blender user and supporter, no need autodesk any more. Learn blender mean two week of pain, after this all work fine and smooth and this is sixth month where blender help me to pay bills. Some problem here and there, but zbrush+ blender done the work decently, my clients don't notice the diff...

Re: Any modellign tool alternative to softimage?

Thanks for your reply guys. I guessed was not a priority due the facts is not directly Blender Foundation team involved in this task, but is done by a single Gsoc guy. Also the some guy work on it from some time now (this is the Viewport FX III, I missing the other two) Scripting? is already too muc...

Re: Any modellign tool alternative to softimage?

In meantime extensively I tried Modo and blender. I think this will surprise many of you, but I found blender a better alternative than modo, even with mesh fusion Not surprising at all, it's the only Blender's feature that polished enough to be useful (with dynamic sculpting). Why not stick with i...

Any modellign tool alternative to softimage?

I'll continuing to use softimage (2013) for a long time, meantime, like others I look around for some good modelling and rendering alternative. I working with dense meshes, lot of imported meshes from zbrush (sometime need to adjust some not manifold meshes, or need to retopology or some boolean ope...

Re: Migration to maya/max = turn the other cheek

I'm liking of what I've been getting in C4D. Just wish Maxon will flush out some cool things for VFX and Games (two great markets). And April 7th there's v801 of Modo. That could be a game changer and push me to Modo land depending on what they show. Brad said 7th april is not something related to ...

Re: Migration to maya/max = turn the other cheek

ace63@ I stay away from maya, but do you know any other package can compete in animation?
Also, you like or not, Maya is the standard to day (sad truth...)

Re: Going Modo?

Rendering in modo is also very good. Layer system is not so bad, and don't understood why people are so negative about. What lack in modo sculpt and paint? The list is very long... if you have worked with zbrush you just know, even blender are better sculpt tools and performance. However, is an erro...
