Re: Ideas and Synopsis
Modify them with some photoshop filters, flip them horizontally, crop them? I wouldn't take it that seriously. If someone asks us to take it down (which is what people do before anything else) we just take it down. Photos and film images should be ok. I think we'll be getting into problems if we use...

Re: Octane GPU Renderer
Well, I was pretty happy to use it without a plugin so the plugin is a bonus. Videos about it can be found on Stephan Woermann's (author) vimeo site: http://vimeo.com/user2509578 Basically, it exports an obj file from XSI, camera position and sunlight position, opens Octane and renders the current f...

Re: Ideas and Synopsis
how about gathering together mood boards and inspirational images as animate suggested and building up a library to inspire our concept artists when we get them onboard? Agreed. BTW I'd love this to look like a professional job. I think, as it progresses, we should get more people wanting to help. ...

collaborative software solution?
We could use a central file system remotely accessible, like webspace with SVN (subversion) folders http://subversion.tigris.org/ . Otherwise it will be really difficult to keep track of everything. http://tortoisesvn.net/about Using TortoiseSVN would mean everyone would be working on the same XSI p...

Re: Ideas and Synopsis
Right now, the number of people we have involved doesn't really justify "supervisor" roles! I would suggest that everyone here can muck in on everything. If you've not tried it before (modelling, texturing, animation, rigging etc) now's your chance. You will be critiqued by your peers and ...

Re: Ideas and Synopsis
I'm up for going to various 2d art sites like deviant art to look for people who fancy doing some character designs based on it because I really don't think we can rely on people here alone to come up with them. We don't have to go with any one design exactly but they could serve as inspiration for ...

Re: Ideas and Synopsis
I don't think this story needs dialogue. There are no story points in yours or my script that genuinely require dialogue to communicate them. In fact, I think dialogue can spoil animations and disconnect the viewer if it is bad, uninteresting or contributes little to the story point. I think there i...

Re: RM:Building1
The long way! I created a new pass and made new materials that were constant shaders with the diffuse texture maps plugged into diffuse ports. Then I created partitions to which I assigned each material and then dropped the correct objects into their respective partitions. Its definitely not the bes...

This thread doesn't provide a solution or an answer for this issue but maybe a possible reason why it doesn't work (for everyone).

Re: Geometry Shader for the hidden Options in mr 3.8
But it seems to be for owners of the standalone only, or did I just stop reading too early in the aforementioned thread (the part where it says "I cannot distribute the dlls")? Then again, I doubt if it's ultimately really worth the effort anyway... For sure. Just thought I'd post the lin...

Cool!
Just in time for the CAP!
It'd be nice to make use of some custom production tools on it.
