Re: Trying to check if there is a point ahead...
Hi there, I'm trying to get a group of particles to check if there are any particles in front of them and I'm struggling to figure out how I could get this working. The closest I can figure is "Get Nearest Points" but I only want to check if there are points in a certain direction. Also R...

Re: Need help with animated array
Hey I set up a basic compound to emit a point per second, the only thing is I can't seem to speed the rate up. If i change the 1.000 in Modulo by to 2.00 for example it doesn't work at all. Hmmm i think it might be tied to the framerate. Don't you have to lower the Modulo By value, if you want more...

Re: Texture Projection Error w. Copies from Polymesh
Did you check inside the compound ? Maybe there's a texture reference that is not exposed, but directly set to "Texture_Projection" instead. If so, change it there or even better, expose it so you have better control.

Re: Point Cache onto a head question!
If I understand this right, you could position the detached head directly on top of the "whole body" one (with all body envelopes transferred, too) then add an ICE tree on the whole body, with something like get closest point (on cached head) -> get pointposition -> set self.pointposition ...

Re: Great work done with Softimage
At this point I'm pretty sure that's a gimmick. I mean it's not for nothing, experimenting with new stuff is always good for something, but I bet nobody would see a difference if they remade that without the circulatory system. My thought exactly. This system could maybe prove to be amazing and inv...

Not if you keep the pane open at all times.bottleofram wrote:And having your whole graph shift left and right as you do so.
edit : which does indeed waste valuable horizontal screen space, like you said before, to which I agreed

I don't have have a video for the 2014 version, but you can see the 2012 SAP version of that feature here (link should start at 8:45) Thanks, that's clear. So it does give a drop-down then. Very much like Houdini's tab menu. I 'd welcome it of course, but frankly hitting Ctrl-F and having almost th...

Re: Wish page for Softimage 20xx....
One of these days... That's not much different than how search/find is now. Only difference is it's in a separate pane instead of in-place. And as for automatically "dropping" the node, what would happen if there are many nodes that start with the string you 're searching for ? How would ...

Ice actually is very artist and user friendly. As long as you can express in words what is supposed to happen, you can easily (in most cases) transfer it into ice compounds. [...] Very well said. Most of the time the problem is the difficulty to put one's thoughts in order, in a way that the proces...

Nixx I think its just that there are a lot of things in Si that were just never developed to the extent that that should have been. Things that promised to be great , but that can never be more then average because the focus continually shifts. Also bear in mind that I come from a point of view of ...

...and not just ICE. I 'm taking angus' quote as a general example. I 'm not sure I agree with the "...just ICE" comments/complaints. ICE is not just a single tool, that they 're focusing on, at the expense of other tools. Think about it : it started mainly as a particle system. Then it m...

Re: delete point from point cloud
one more, how can i remove points that match a certain id? What you have now gives you an array of results for the specific point id compared against every one of the array members. That's why the output is an array of booleans. Use "Find in Array" instead of the "equal to" comp...
