Jagged edges in preview window

Post by wesserbro » 26 Jul 2017, 12:10

Hi All! I dont use XSI very intensively to say politely. And every time i find some issue i can't remember if it was there last year i opened the app :)
So this time Softimage 2015 SP1 intriduced me with this strange bug with jagged edges in preview rendering window (saved images look normal).
Anyone's familiar with this? What should i do, go back to 2014, go back from win10 to win7? SAD... :)

It's because zoom in the window is not 100%. This happens quite often and seems that this is small Softimage bug.

Just change the pixel filter thing in your render settings. Mitchell or Lanczos will fix that. Tri or Box will give you stuff like that. Also increase the pixel sample. All this is due to sampling algorithm's for the AA/pixels. Gaussian the default at 3 is not great when you get angles like that. It's good for animation and motion blur.

Draise, saved images is ok, its just sh*tty image scaling in preview windows. Like in bad image viewers
