Post by whurst » 16 Dec 2012, 20:44

Hello XSI users,

well this is my first post in this forum. I was just a silent reader here and i post some stuff into the German xsiForum. Hirazi told me i should post my plugin into SI too ... so ... here i am :-) Hi ^^

It's my first plugin for XSI 2012 written with VS2012 for Windows 64bit

whGear is a plugin to create typical gearwheels with cogs, holes and a nice nut. It's appear in Primitive->Polymesh->whGear after installation and opens a property page where you can setup many stuff.

The plugin can download on my whGear Website

Here some pictures

Hi Wolfgang,

judging from the looks of your examples, it is a start. But comparing these cogwheels to real ones, you'll notice that in a gear these wheels wouldn't work. The teeth on the wheels need to be of a special form in order to be able to rotate with the neighboring wheels. There are a few formulars and documents out there which describe how cogwheels need to look like. If you could implement this knowledge to your plug in, it could be really useful.

Best wishes
Pancho

Hello everybody,

today i released Version 3.0 of my whGear Plugin. There are three new functions. it can create flanges, hubs and cog bulge to make the cog a little more realistic. Changes based on request of Eric Deren, he help me with that. Thanks goes to him too ^^
