Simulate point cloud woes

Post by Pancho » 06 Apr 2014, 16:59

I do have a point cloud with a certain amount of particles. At one point I freeze the whole point cloud. ICE tree is gone, particles are all there.

Now I would like to simulate these "frozen" particles. I create an ICE tree in the simulation stack, add a gravity force and plug in a "simulate particles" node.

I press play: I would actually expect the particles to fall down, but nothing happens. Everything stays in place.

I add a the two compounds in the modeling stack (initialize particles (mass, size, etc.) and initialize simulation (velocity, etc.). Still nothing happens.

What do I need to do in order to simulate a frozen particle cloud? Don't get it currently!

Cheers

You need to make an ice tree in sim stack

Init particle data, init force and velocity(don't forget to change the values, put a randomize node for example), simulate particles.
