Hi,
This is my first ice modeling tool, inspired by Chris Gotzinger's bridge tutorial (I managed to avoid the repeat node ) :
The scene needs an input polygon (profile), an empty polymesh for the icetree, and two input curves.
The first curve is the extrusion path, the second one controls the upvector and the scale of the slices.
Check the scene and manipulate the curves to see how it works.
It's the first version and far from finished, I started with some basic UV mapping but have to figure out how to do each last poly of the segment loop.
Todo list:
-Good UV creation.
-Make scaling of the segments relative to the inputpolygonsize.
-Caps on ends.
-Work with curves as well as poly's for profiles (now polygons).
-make an option to stay between the two curves.
-more options.
-no strange icetree hanging if I disconnect inputs.
...
Any help is of course welcome!

New version of my ice modeling exercise, checkbox for start and end caps, on-off checkbox for controlled rotation and scaling, now you can disconnect input curves without hanging the icetree.
Use the scene in the first post and replace the compound to test.
TODO:
-Better UV mapping.
-Maybe some procedural input shapes would be cool.
-option to stay between the curves.
-Would there be a way to extrude selected poly's from an existing object?
