Hi Hirazi,
I wanted to let you know that si-community is very hard to connect to from safari (mac)..
Not very important, but I use macs at home and reading the forum is nearly impossible : safari will succed in loading a page one time out of ten... When it succed everything is normal, but nearly all the time it just hang while trying to load any of the pages of si-community.com ..
I see this behaviour since a few weeks, did you change anything that could explain this ?

I'll try to look into it. I however do not own a Mac,
so the only testing I am able to do myself would be with "Safari for Windows".
I'll be back... ;)
PS - Does your Mac encounter the same problems with other browsers as well?
edit: just installed Safari for Windows and did a little test on our domain, but everything (at first glance) seems to be okay... Which obviously says nothing as I can't test it on a Mac...
other Mac users, feel free to chime in...

I will have to test another browser.. I will let you know..Hirazi Blue wrote:PS - Does your Mac encounter the same problems with other browsers as well?

hmm Tried Google Chrome, same behaviour...
It can't be related to my ISP because a PC, even a virtual one on the mac can connect without problem...
Strange...

If two browsers give you the same issues, it might be some missing stuff on the mac?
Or is it maybe aggressively running a firewall setting?
just thinking out loud here....

That would be logical, but the same mac has no problem when connecting from a windows virtual machine..Rork wrote:If two browsers give you the same issues, it might be some missing stuff on the mac?

No firewall either on the mac, nor on the vm windows..
First time I need windows to rescue a mac ;)

well.. the virtual machine does something else than OSX, as it is windows
I still think there's something missing on the MAC end, latest java update or something?
You'll never know.... ;)

@tomalc - Just to let you know I am still looking into it: as I don't own a Mac myself, I've asked the friends of mine who do to look into it. Sadly, I haven't heard anything conclusive yet... I'll keep you posted!
edit: the first results are in - tested on a Mac with Safari and Firefox by someone who never before visited this site, but knows his way around the internet: to him loading times appear quite normal... I'm starting to think, the problem MIGHT be on your end of the equation. Nothing conclusive though, just a thought...
