Re: Real Ghostbusters CGI Intro recreation....
First minute of animation should be roughed out tomorrow.
doing the tougher shots first. simple stuff for last.
all the ghosts are done minus the pilot ghost. then when first minute reached i can take a human designing break.

should have it all roughed out, minus 12 people designs, by Sunday.
Minus a few timing issues, and a few things i've never gotten right with my human models, i am largely pleased with how this is turning out.

Will start the people next week, and take a bit of a turtle break finally... keep saying that but keep putting it off.

90% of the promo is set in stone and finished today.
3 more shots to fine tune,
then 12 people to design to finish up the rest of it .

hoping to get it done by Wednesday at this rate. REALLY shocked and pleased at not only how fast it came together but how passable it looks.

1.5 months work complete with 100% complete walkthroughable fire house.
i'd like to think i'm getting a little better. even if it'd only qualify as an animatic by pro standards.
enjoy.

Re: Real Ghostbusters CGI Intro recreation....
Ghostbusters is done. going back to turtles for a bit. I think I will do Rip Off and A THIRD try at Big Blow Out back to back so at least three projects will all have the same models.
When you have no life and need projects to keep one busy, it helps to keep one sane and focused.
where to go from that? not sure yet. i'm not good enough to turn this into a full time gig. and I KNOW I don't want to do any more full turtle episodes after this.
Break In looks good enough on it's own and doesn't need a remix. Maybe short clips from shows that could use a little updating attempt?

Pretty cool though, hope you'll update it as you did with the turtles intro
which became quite refined and faithful to the original!
I also like the look of the outlines from the other thread, I hope they don't add to much work?
Kudos!

The Toon ink outlines I found just got in the way, and it also took twice as long to render with them in there.FXDude wrote:Pretty cool though, hope you'll update it as you did with the turtles intro

so for future projects, i abandoned them.
as for updating ghostbusters, probably not. this promo was a way to update the things I didn't like in the intro and doing everything over from scratch, minus character bodies and equipment.
