this video is featured also on cgchannel.com, but the only software reference they give, is that those plants where created in GrowFX using 3Ds Max...
no Softimage mentioning, no Arnold mentioning..

Different publications highlight different software, but Whiskytree appears to be one of those rare houses primarily using Softimage.
The primary digital content creation package at Whiskytree is Softimage, with rendering in Solid Angle's Arnold and compositing in NUKE.

Yeah, I was complaining about softimage missing, not wondering whether they use it or not :)

I'm missing the point of posting that complaint here though. A thread showing off the great work transitioning to the usual doom and gloom thread. Not particularly on topic with the thread in my view.

completely not my intention.

I just thought that only mentioning a plugin for 3ds max then showing this super impressive clip, is a new record in my opinion of softimage being put a side.
but you are right, not the right place.
I stand corrected.

That's okay ... here we have a even more in-depth look.

Moderator edit: Fixed the embedding. This video appears to be only available as Flash, that's why our HTML5 based video-tag didn't work. Had to use our old FLV tags. This is also the reason why some of you won't be able to watch it. - HB

Moderator PS: @all - If embedding doesn't work and you can't fix it yourself, please send me a PM - HB

It appears C4D for the mograph at the beginning and Softimage for the rest. But I'm guessing ... the work is cool.

from Darren Cullis
Once again I was asked by the sky creative department, to help work on a title sequence for the new lions tour in South Africa. My role was to build, rig, model and animate 4 lions, as well as develop a Wave rig would be fully controllable and Animatable. I also had the opportunity to look at and learn XSI’s new ICE system to create some particle effects for some of the particles seen flying around the players.

This is another Softimage based studio. But they are using also Maya, Houdini and Naiad.
