ICE & Coder for short tasks
ICE & Coder for short tasks
Hi,
I'm looking around for an ICE coder who can help me completing upcoming tasks on hourly paid basis. Please share where is another good place to look around. Had no luck with google searches , guru.com, freelance.com ...
Regards,
Frank

what kinds of things do you want doing?
Re: ICE & Coder for short tasks
Hi Pooby,
thx for your reply. Rt now I need to auto generate shapes of a mirrors that reflect the movie of a projector onto different objects (inner cylinder, cube etc.)
The needed feature is to calculate the needed shape of the mirror, so the movie is distributed as needed. The way it is needed is, that from a single view-point, the movie looks un-distorted (basically if a person is in the center of cylinder for example, the projection looks correctly)
At the same time a filter needs to generate the necessary arrangement of distortion and probably tiling of the movie-images, so the needed projection result can be feasibly achieved.
Sounds a bit complicated, but it’s just based on input angle = output agle of light ray, and we have a fixed source, a fixed destination, and a shape able mirror object.

Re: ICE & Coder for short tasks
Here I have an older post at maxwell's forum for a prequel of this "tracing projection rays" task.

Re: ICE & Coder for short tasks
I can check the mathematical stuff, but need help with implementing with ICE because I'm not a coder.
Re: ICE & Coder for short tasks
Have you watched pooby's Ray Cam video series on vimeo? Seems like that might help you accomplish what you're after.
Re: ICE & Coder for short tasks
do you have a link ? I found https://vimeo.com/24521085, which is kinda related. Can you help me in an online session to set it up ?

found it.

Re: ICE & Coder for short tasks
ok cool thx, Paul (Pooby ?) has great knowledge of ICE. Hoping for help with setting up my projector, mirror, wall, environment with ICE on a paid, online session basis.
Re: ICE & Coder for short tasks
So actually why does this need to be an ice setup ?
Why don't you use simply camera projected textures/movies ?
Maybe I just didnt understand the briefing.

Re: ICE & Coder for short tasks
Hi Helli,
ya thing is I need ICE coding here and there and this task calls for ICE. Its about generating the right reflector-mirror for a projection setup ... basically like re-engineering. So the fixed source and destination, define the reflector in-between, how its shape has to be so source A, over mirror B, appears as wanted on screen C.
