I was about to bind ctrl+s to script that does 1) goto frame 1 2) save.

Another powerful little event that should have been added to the main functionality "long ago".
You should start a company "SaveRewind Technologies" and try to sell it to Autodesk...

This should definitely be there by default...
Btw, if someone is wondering why its not working at times, rray has made it so it doesnt bother you if there are less than 10k particles. In case you are like me and working with strands on a mediocre machine, you might wanna lower that down (line 32) ;)
