What to do now?
My Ultimate subscription is due at the beginning of April. I don't want to waste any more money on Autodesk. But would I be premature to jump ship this year?
Beta testers: is there anything in Softimage 2015 worth hanging around for?

April? You'll probably still get 2015 with current one.

I doubt it. My subscription always comes due a few weeks before the next version is released.Bullit wrote:April? You'll probably still get 2015 with current one.
Right now I'm inclined to let it lapse and get off the Autodesk hamster wheel as quickly as possible. Work with 2014 as long as I can and migrate to some combination of Modo/C4D/ZBrush.

I would suggest get in touch with your reseller. Usually they negotiate something with Autodesk. I had a similar problem 3 years ago and this went astoundingly smoothly.

Re: What to do now?
So I've decided to fork over the cash (~$1000) for one more year of Ultimate subscription. That will get me access to the final release of Softimage (an absolute must to extend its useful life, right?) as well as all the incremental improvements to the rest of the AD suite.
It kills me to think that my renewal will be misinterpreted by Autodesk bean counters as another sheep doing as he is told. I'm convinced that they stopped counting Softimage seats once they began migrating licenses to suites. When I converted my separate XSI and Max subscriptions into one Max Suite subscription, I no longer counted as a Softimage user. This has to have been the reasoning behind never offering a Softimage-branded package.
Anyone care to talk me out of it?

Did you talked to your reseller?

Yes, Autodesk's only concession (which they're offering to everyone) is a discounted subscription renewal price.
