I doubt if this will stay up when AD officially pulls the plug... ("April 30, 2016" :!! )
But I seem to recall Angus Davidson (?) mentioning that educational facilities weren't allowed to teach any software that reached EOL-status anymore...

I'm missing some pieces of the big picture. When you say "AD officially pulls the plug on April 30th 2016", what does that mean ?

Is that for perpetual licenses ? So even students have to start paying for monthly licenses ?

I would appreciate if you can provide me with a source stating how this will affect educational licenses.

Thanks.

The date I mentioned was based on info in the Softimage final release announcement.
I have no idea what this effectively means for educational licenses...

We have licences on or flexlm server that will last until mid 2017. However that being said even though we have the licences, we are legally not allowed to teach EOL software. That whats made the EOL announcement so devastating for us. If they had said end of development that would have allowed us to continue for a few years more ;(
