Roadster is an automatic vehicle rigging and road creation tool for Softimage.
This video is showing a vehicle rigged with Roadster with a basic animation.

Well, unless community support for 3rd party development picks up significantly, I'm afraid the prophecy about the disappearance of new 3rd party developers might, unfortunately, come true.

True, but I wouldn't take sales in this specific period as the definitive datum to decide this. The Softimage user base currently is frantically (and understandably so) exploring its options for the future. Buying plugins for Softimage might not be very high on everybody's agenda right now. But I am sure it will pick up again...

So maybe it is time to think about alternative ways to keep 3rd party development alive, because the more tools like this emerge the longer SI will live.
What about releasing now as "early access" to make future funding a bit more predictable?
Or community funded projects? Since we won't have to spend money for useless upgrades anymore, these budgets could go to starving devs (who wouldn't have to go the same pace as true commercial development for SI projects and could develop for other "platforms" as well).
Now that AD is "out" we can decide the future of SI ourselves.

I agree that that time has come: thinking about ways to keep 3rd party developers active in ways that truly help the user base, motivating them to make it worthwhile for the devs, would seem a good start for a separate thread, if you are willing to open one.

Dreaming here the impossible: that AD will change their mind and sale XSI to someone who will continue it :(

Sorry to hear sales are not stellar for your plugins, I think you have some really nice looking tools. I picked up Forester, I wasn't ready to purchase only because I just got a new computer and because it is my busy season I am using it as part of the render farm, but it will eventually be my main computer, long story short, I need to get a usb-k-bob thing to float the license, however, I thought it was important to support your efforts. Looking forward to this as well.

This is a run-through of the different features of Roadster, my upcoming plugin for Softimage.

A more detailed walk-through of the vehicle rigging part is coming soon.
