Clarisse is a new breed of high-end 2D/3D animation software that reinvents the traditional approaches of creating final images. In a single integrated application, Clarisse provides you with all the means to paint, animate, texture, surface, create layers, render and compose.
Not really sure what to make of it, but it looks interesting -

Do the following:
Copy the text under "A word from the CEO" from the Isotropix website in a Textfile, print it out and loose it somewhere in your office desk. Then after five years or so, accidently discover it again and read it. Then find out what happens to Vision if it´s hit by Reality.

But that's basically life in a nutshell, I guess:
the best of intention never survive in the long run...

(Or is that view too cynical? :D )

the instance vid is useless because its only 1 geo, take 50 or 100 different of them and lets see it again.
but its good to see more here from clarisse, but keep in mind thats the november build.
the workflow looks really good but i hope they dont limit the comp to a layer system.
this system must be finished, ad needs competition here, its ridiculous how they do their business since some years and could survive on the market (yeah market, i know).

Looking at the second video I hardly see anything that would make this product a viable competitor in this Autodesk world. Nice software, no doubt, but nothing earth-shattering, nothing that will have AD developers or execs tremble in their boots.
I can (and secretly even hope to be) mistaken, though...

yep, its hard to say, it all comes down how good the renderer will be and how good the data management will be. change things while working on projects is basic, how will this work with clarisse without ot create to much overhead?

A bit cheesy presentation - with all "what you want", "the way you want" - but great music. I wonder who is the artist/band that created it.

I like the concept of rendering and compositing at the same time. Too bad for me that Softimage Illusion is dead now and mental ray integration has no progressive rendering feature

After some work with SI 2013 release I see every student that can be viable competitor to Autodesk now :D

Some of these ideas, where in softimage 5 years ago, with the fx compositor, the render region etc etc.
Then Avid get in trouble, and autodesk come: and now we got the crow fx and the new "high quality" ( :)) ) viewport ad new features.
I'm glad to see some real, REAL, innovation here. Hope they got it to work.
