Is disconnected render tree fixed in this version ?
Yeah, I´d like to know that one too... the last fix didn´t fix that at all.

I believe its fixed-but it cannot do the reconnections for you. You'll have to do that part. It just keeps the disconnections from happening from now on.

For clarity's sake (I hope) I've moved the "unified sampling" posts to their own thread called unified sampling 2012 ;)

That´s what they said for Hotfix 2 too. I believed it and lost hours of work so I´m still sceptic quite a bit ...

There are some steps to follow, after implementing the hotfix and opening a scene.
If the scene has been bitten by the bug, the corruption is fixed, but nodes aren't reconnected.

Go to the SI wiki, there's a page on the necessary steps on what to do. It also involves restarting Si and such.

But I agree it's a pain in the behind and a workflow menace..... :((

Please tell me Softimage hasn't moved to the horrible online user guide system a la Maya.... i really like the "old fashioned" fast loading user guide i have now (2011 student version)

You can download a local copy of the help and specify its path in Softimage preferences so it'll open up from your local HD.

Yes,

they moved over to the online Max/Maya help systsem. Like Max said, luckily you still can download the files for the 'old' CMH helpsystem, and link to those in the user preferences.

And Nick, welcome to the si-community!! :-)

Finished all the training vids yet?? ;-)
