Autodesk Remote

Use Autodesk® Remote™ service to drive Autodesk software installed on your primary computer from a remote PC or iPad® to access native design data. The iPad app, compatible only with Autodesk® Inventor® software, enables you to work anywhere you can access the Internet. This service is available with purchase of Autodesk® Subscription for select Autodesk products.
This service is only available when you purchase Subscription or a rental license for any Autodesk software.
Active Autodesk Remote desktop sharing sessions are not limited to Autodesk software. Work remotely using compatible non-Autodesk software as well.

So the lines in the eula about territories... don't apply anymore, thanks. ;)

Actually, not quite. This service is available with Subscription and with Subscription you currently get extra territory rights. Customers can use their licensed software outside the country of purchase for up to 90 days.

Actually, the software "never left the office" (so it never was installed outside of the territory), as said in the video. So where do you sue someone? In the country where the remote program was run? Or where the non-remote software was installed? Good luck convincing a judge of those little technicalities who nowadays are so out of touch in the UK, they can't even operate a cellphone ;)

The policy I quoted wasn't refering to Autodesk Remote, but the standard extra territory rights that currently comes with Autodesk Subscription. I don't know the exact details for Autodesk Remote.

The point I was making is that Autodesk Remote is available with Subscription (for select products), and you already get extra territory rights with Subscription anyway.
But outside of that, then the normal EULA around territories still applies. You can only use Autodesk software in the country it was purchased.
Btw, this has go nothing to do with the UK.

This is true for some members of a rather old generation regardless of their profession and to be frank for younger people too, but less common of course.
Judges, in general, are people with a lot of common sense and they don't have to know technicalities in order to reach the right conclusion (verdict).

My opinion on this is that Autodesk as well as many other corporations, are still riding a dying wave, but not for long. The world of electronic products is a very young one and it lacks regulation/ laws.
Corporations in other industries would only dream of such liberties to dictate such ludicrous terms. The car industry comes to mind... :)
