MODO webinar for Softimage Users - tomorrow, April 3
Re: MODO webinar for Softimage Users - tomorrow, April 3
I think if Fabric Engine were implemented in Modo .Then it would definately be a better alternative for Softimage users than either Max or Maya especially as the node based programming is just around the corner in FE

That was a very interesting talk, props to Brad for keeping me hooked for the 2 and a half hours! Though he did leave the really interesting stuff til the very end that we can't talk about...
There are a lot of ways about modo's approach I really like, my worries are still the rig performance, referencing and reliability side, working in a studio environment. Certainly tempted to get a license for eval, as at least in terms of shapes/uvs the workflow feels very comfortable, not breaking shapes by modifying the mesh etc.

The non destructive shapes and the deformers was really awesome. There is also a lot more under the hood then most folks realised at first as well. This is particularly good news for 3rd party devsmattmos wrote:That was a very interesting talk, props to Brad for keeping me hooked for the 2 and a half hours! I think the more people wrap their head around what Nexus actually is the faster Modo will gain developers.

Brad made a lot of fuss about something going to be announced at the NAB. I guess it was about Modo, but the only thing which is new is "Nuke Studio". Anybody an idea what he was so excited about?

I don't think it was Modo related...

I thought I saw a Modo Lite for game development and only about a hundred bucks.

Well, Nuke Studio looks good. Something to make Autodesk think more about it. I guess it'll fight Smoke and Flame in the next versions.

Well Nuke studio will solve my adobe problem ;) Apart from one Prof who needs Photoshop for his photography, I will be able to go Adobe free from next year ;)
