On a similar talk ... I just finished watching the tips and tricks and devs sessions from the Max and Maya team. Of course what we see doesn't have anything to do with what will happen eventually, but the Max guys are very very passionate about their software. Even though 3ds Max has lots of problems, it's nice to see people who like the software they work so much.

As for the future, I got the impression that the 2016 version will focus a lot on animation (Max and Maya).

I'm stoked to the 801 launch as well. Luxology is always great in building a hype.

Not really interesting unless they make render engine to work on GPU and add unified sampling.

That's oddly specific. :)

I am assuming Nox has oddly specific requirements ;)

Anyway once Vray comes to Modo that point will be moot anyway.

Have the Luxology User group meeting in Johannesburg tomorrow night. Will be interesting to see what the SA folks are using their products for.

The first usergroup was Nuke focused so a big interest to me as I want to move the students away from after effects. Was very interesting to see how our local studios , big and small were using it to great effect. Bidding and getting shots for international features which is awesome. Being the first one it was a lot of meet and greet which is great. Was a lot of great energy and enthusiasm which was good to see. A lot of disgruntled folks looking for a way off the good ship HMS Autodesk as well.
