...Dude, again. I tried to get more XSI stuff in there, but it did not work, like I already said!
XSi is still used a lot and nobody is dropping it by now. But they all watch the market. People know what they have with XSI. But we have to open our eyes and look for alternatives. We have no choice. I´m with Softimage for nearly 20 years now and I will stick with it until something better comes along, what i really doubt. Anyway... ;)

Hi, Sorry, because I did, but I don't think I meant to say that concerning yourself specifically (but in general)
and I think Hirazi's heatbreak emoticon on this particular topic may have (re-)sparked something. (a teardrop might have done the same)

What I find silly is had we not been regrettably informed of anything, while putting a guy on making one or 2 Ice compounds a year, we would've complained about slow development, while going-on doing what we do using what we normally have chosen for what it does best for probably another decade or so, without any difference other than semantics between that and the current scenario.

Semantics which I remain convinced could have simply been made abstraction-of while making our own compounds (including some ground breaking ones no doubt) , then probably amounting to more than 2 per year.

But whatever at this point.

Or whatever the market says is best for us because 'we don't have a choice' while most of everyone individually makes their own often no less than life changing backflips to compensate. Which I personally still find pretty incredible, but anyway as you say.

@FXDude - I think it's an important topic to keep on discussing until the bitter end. Might be a good idea if you were to open up a dedicated thread about it in our "Open Discussion" subforum.

It's worth pointing out that Eric and Helge will be presenting a bunch of Fabric stuff running with Softimage :) Not sure it helps much, but it won't be literally 0 Softimage being presented...

The scariest thing this year was to drink beer from Cologne, while coming from Düsseldorf.

This can be compared to expecting a vampire to drink holy water. : )

No, everything nice as usual. Probably even a bit more interesting since getting so much input from different pieces of software. But then, everybody IS "missing" SI.

Hi all,

Normally I would write down a overview of the UT, but due to a -very- busy schedule atm, it's hard to find the time and sit down for to write a extensive report.

All I can say for now it was a great UT again, with a lot of familiar faces and a lot of new ones. The line-up this year was very diverse, and interesting to see some of the companies that use SI seem to have taken a liking to Houdini. Not a massive surprise I guess. AD was kinda MIA on UT.... ;-)

The traditional 'after party' went on into the early hours, and hopefully most of the visitors will come back next year.

Hopefully the videos will be online soon, so me missing this years report isn't too long a wait ;-)
