Is there a "displacement to poly" option in softimage 2013?

in ice, you could use push_inICE node or the Push_texture.
give the object a texture map with the image you want to use. make sure you have the projection selected. then give the object an ice tree. get push_texture node. then bring in the "get point texture map color" and plug that into color. and make sure you have enough detail on your mesh.

yes that way is way simpler.
