Hi,

I am looking for an interactive radial and rectangle array for SI.

I didn't find nothing about it. Maybe a script or plugin exist ?

All the best and happy new year to all the SI TEAM :)

Motion Tools addon has this feature, and it's animatable and has cool simulation/control for animation - using particles and ICE. It's pretty straight forward. The only issue is... instances with good UV's and materials.. that is a bit of a headache to convert instances to export to third party renderes.

Or you can try this ol little addon: Download

Happy new year back to you!

Thanks Draise

I know this addon but it is not interactive at all.
I read my message again and I saw it what not so clear than I thought ...
In fact I was talking about interactive "modeling" ;)

Hi,

can you give an example of what you would do with it?

Nothing directly but it can be done with the ICE node "Create copies from polygon mesh".

Apply the node to an empty polygon mesh and set a source object. For a second or 3rd dimension, you can add more nodes of the same, but with the source object set to "self".

Parameters can be adjusted interactively then using the transform parameters in the node PPGs and transforms on the source object's points

Yeah, you can build that tool using ICE. The good thing with the Motion Tools is part of it is already built. Including two nulls that you can interact with in the viewport for the spiral/circle size. You could get dot products, distance to and from different nulls, etc; to drive those node trees - and it's all quite interactive - just a lot more flexibility and more setting up..

ICE is not my friend but I will try it ...
