Hi all!
I'm having a bit of an issue with camera animation. Right now I would like my camera translate Z to be constrained to a character as he moves in space. So what I did was constrain a null to the character, and then directly connect my camera's parent null translate Z to the constrained null using expression.
However, when I now set keys on the camera, I'm getting very jittery movement when the camera tracks the character. Every frame will have a sort of 'stair-stepping' effect as the camera moves to its new offset position.
Is there something I can do to mitigate this behaviour? Or am I doing something wrong here in workflow?
Thanks!
Jitter on Camera animation when camera has a constraint
Re: Jitter on Camera animation when camera has a constraint
is the character 's Z translation continuous?
Re: Jitter on Camera animation when camera has a constraint
Actually I solved this already, sorry, should have updated the post. I was an idiot, the camera was using smooth tangents on its keys, but it was constrained to a null which was still on stepped tangents

Ahhah, sometimes the most simple solutions are right in front of our eyes and still we don't see them! Happens all the time
