What's the difference between this and scaling via region tool?

Re: SI Animation Technology Preview
It appears you can lay down multiple (as many as you want maybe?) handles and proportionally scale between each of them instead of just an overall area.
Re: SI Animation Technology Preview
I wanna hear what animators think about that feature (as for me it's useless because you manually scale one area at once either way)EricTRocks wrote:It appears you can lay down multiple (as many as you want maybe?)

Re: SI Animation Technology Preview
Character Animators I've shown seem pretty excited about it.iamVFX wrote:I wanna hear what animators think about that feature (as for me it's useless because you manually scale one area at once either way
That's incorrect. As the region scale only allows you to scale 1 region, the new tool shows you can scale between multiple regions instead of having to select a region & scale, select a region & scale, select a region & scale, etc....iamVFX wrote:Yea, what region scale do as well
Re: SI Animation Technology Preview
For me as animator this looks quite nice.
You are able to change the timing in your animation at every time.
Would be interesting how the keys behave when you scale the animation this way.

Well, I'm glad that animators excited about this Waiting a new tech previews to see more!
Re: SI Animation Technology Preview
it's kind of like a lattice for keys. it's more useful than the region for retiming animation

Neat. Can it respect frame snapping? Really dont like my keys sitting on 21.658-ish frame and all that business...
Also, if maya and xsi have to be identical animation-wise, any plans on bringing those editable motion trails, perhaps..? Hum?

Yes. I only had snap to grid turned on, not frames.bottleofram wrote:Neat. Can it respect frame snapping? Really dont like my keys sitting on 21.658-ish frame and all that business...
