Interior_Scene.

Post by Magog » 14 May 2012, 22:34

Hello everyone,
new personal work, simple interior.
As a reference I was inspired by an image found on the internet, I do not remember the name of the study, but I was pleasantly surprised and I adapted to my taste.
Apart from the Eames chairs, all modeled by me on XSI.
Render with Octane, with Gtx580 +590.
Post production with Photoshop.
Cooking image from 3.30 to 5 h.
Lighting with HDRI.

C&C are welcome.

The objective of this test was the use of lighting and hdri IES lights, trying to get a good time / quality.

Beautiful... :ymapplause:
(and obviously very image-heavy, for future threads, you might want to look into our rimg tags)
Stay safe, sane & healthy!

Very nice!

One small issue for me is the generic fractal bump on the walls, I find it distracting and too CG'ish.

But Octane is a nice renderer, despite the longish render times ;-)

Thanks so much for the answers:

@ Hirazi: The images are very light this time, I tried to not make the mistake of other times. In the future I will use the link you suggested.

@ Rork: In your opinion, is too time 3.30 h. for an Unbiased, with hdri lighting and photometriche IES?

Who would be interested, I insert The following link to download the model lamp Fortuny_Giudecca.
Format emdl For Those using XSI and OBJ format.

Don't know if it's too long ;-)

I've been spoiled by some other renderers than MR, but Octane seems to be pretty fast for what it's doing.

Thanks for the lamp model!!! Any chance getting the textures as well? :-bd

edit: the emdl is giving an error when importing. I assume you have some modeling dependence still there. Be sure to freeze all modeling before exporting emdl.

I also come from Mr and before that by Vray.
I do not know iray or other Unbiased, I played a bit with Arion, which is very nice and it is a hybrid, very seriously as a product! Too bad the licensed multiGPU costs too much for me.
Octane to each relase is always more stable and potent. himo

What textures do you need? :)
I can give you the map of wood that I used...

I am very sorry for the file emdl, in fact I haven't freezed the model.
With the OBJ file you tried? works?
Tomorrow I will not be in the office, unfortunately, to change the corrupt file ..

Hi, no worries about the model.

I will try the obj as well. The emdl crashed Softimage right after I started to quickly shade it, so there must be something odd going on there.
These models from the manufacturer often come with textures, that's why I asked. If it's just a plain wood one, I'll manage ;-)

iray looks promising, and Vray will find it's way into Softimage country very quickly as a good alternative for small studios and freelancers.

All the other options might be too costly for now for small studios and freelancers.

But that's another discussion, we were discussing your great renders.... ;)

Thanks Rork!
For tomorrow will fix the file and put emdl available to the texture.
Thanks so much for the valuable feedback!

Try this emdl, let me know if it works now.
Inside you will find the texture of the wood that I used in the scene.
