Cloning / Instantiate advice

Post by agrmrs » 23 Mar 2010, 18:13

hi firends i'm back with 2 question ;;)

1)
i used clone single command to clone an object ...... it worked perfect and also when i edit the original mesh the cloned mesh also updates real time.....but the vertices located at the middle line doesen't seem to be welded ..... can we make them welded and begin our process or is it ok to keep it as it and after finishing our model & just weld it ? ......thanx

2)
i gave the command called "Single intantiate" to the same object but it gave me and error :( ..... advices will be highly appreciate :)

1) The welding of the clone to the original should probably be done last, after you froze the "CloneOP" operator in the Operator Stack of the cloned object...
2) You cannot instantiate a single "simple" object. Instantiation only works with Models (just like the error message says). ;)
Stay safe, sane & healthy!

If you are trying to model symmetrically then try this technique:

thanx "Hirazi Blue" now i got it :D

thanx "grahamef" but i've got an issue :-\ i cloned the boject and used the symmetrize polygons command .....means the object we used to get a clone is still there ..... and after symmetrize the cloned polygon, the editing process isn't working symmetrically :( can someone explain it :ymhug: ( in below pic for more clear i moved the basic polygon object which we used to get a clone a little downward ) ...thanx :)

Hi..!
You will have to edit the source polygon, not the resulting mesh, to get this effect..!

cheers,

Owei is correct. If you follow the steps exactly, you won't even be able to select and modify the clone in the viewports.
