Hello...
Does anybody run into the problem with cached particles not loading at first when you start the scene?
I'll load a scene that has working cached particles following a curve... when I close it and reopen it, it doesn't load. I have to, with out touching anything, reload the same scene and everything is there!
Really weird
thanks,
caached particles dont load...
Re: caached particles dont load...
Happens to me too. It's a dodgy system.
Are you applying cache on file node to the ICE tree with the particles, or making an empty pointcloud?

Re: caached particles dont load...
This is now driving me crazy too. If I reload a scene with cache on file node in an ICE tree, I can't see the particles, even though the cache sequence exists and is in the right location. I have to re-write the sim for it to work.
Re: caached particles dont load...
EXACTLY!!! Even if you create an empty point cloud and apply the same cached file to that... it still doesn't work.
I don't know.
I don't know.
Re: caached particles dont load...
If you have icetree also in modeling stack, duplicate the pointcloud and apply cache to this pc (so modeling stack will stay and mixer op will be over it). Also caching with animate->plot is most reliable.

Thanks. I've got something that works more often by using your method.origin wrote:If you have icetree also in modeling stack, duplicate the pointcloud and apply cache to this pc (so modeling stack will stay and mixer op will be over it). Also caching with animate->plot is most reliable.
Re: caached particles dont load...
I think there are some bugs in 2014... if you have different instance shapes, caches may go full retard.
Re: caached particles dont load...
In my scene atm it's only working when the cache on file tree is above the simulation stack. Strange, didn't use to be like that and not logical either. As if at each frame the node has to be forced to re-evaluate or something?
