lagoa - how to create dirt like the very first example
The very first video in the lagoa 1.0 teaser
Shown here: http://vimeo.com/m/13457383
Is exactly what I'm trying to achieve but can not get a similar result.
Could anyone assist?

Re: lagoa - how to create dirt like the very first example
To elaborate; I have a truck driving under a silo dumping dirt but instead of clumping where they land they fly all over the place when colliding with a moving object (slow moving truck) and then slide off the flat surfaces.
I've tried static friction, no slip and 32 time steps with 32 inelastic steps.
Increasing steps seems to make it worse after a point.
I'd be happy if I could just stop the particles bouncing off the moving object like super balls.
Any ideas at all?
edit: I have worked out how to fix the bouncing - you need to increase the scene FPS, so it seems that when you interpolate steps within a simulation it does NOT interpolate the objects animation, which is pretty useless.
So now I just need to know why No Slip and static friction don't work, I've seen people ask before but there's never been an answer.
If you want to try just have some particles fall on a slowly moving cube, instead of carrying along with the cube after they've settled they'll slide off.

Also I have no idea how that 'clumping' was achieved in the demo video.

Did you checked sample scenes?

Yes. They're only very basic.
edit: confirming that with static friction and no slip enabled, as well as set collision data active there is NO EFFECT from these parameters.
no slip and static friction can be 0 or 1000 and there is no difference to the simulation.

I don't understand why the developers don't put these demo scenes in the samples, it would be nice if you could check out some "heavy calculation and production ready" scenes, with the correct high-quality settings and resolution, even if that means big calculation times.
Re: lagoa - how to create dirt like the very first example
For the clumping I had best results with the flexible structure 2 scene, i think you need some elastic breaking and stretch resistance.
pump up your resolution a bit and play with the breaking point and stretch resistance.
Cheers

Cool thanks I'll try that if I can work out how to stop the particles sliding off any moving surfaces.
I mean this is a pretty big bug/oversight isn't it?

Check for Lagoa in http://groups.google.com/group/xsi_list there was member there(or was it here?) that shared a lot of Lagoa scenes.

Away from work computer atm but I think I've found those scenes before and it doesn't have the dirt scene from the video and half don't even work with the current lagoa.
If it's the one I found before (pretty sure it is).

Hi,
i know is thread is old, but try the highly breakable material preset.

Thanks, that would be helpful for anyone searching around for that!
